Constipation, Day 4

Monday, 16 October 2006

Overheard just now …

Zack: Mommy, I don’t want to poop on the potty. I want to poop in my pull-up.

Kim: Nope. You’re three now, and when you’re three, that means you need to go poop on the potty.

Zack: Mommy, when am I gonna turn back into two?

OK, maybe I over analyze things….but I am a Psychotherapist and I cannot help wondering about the first generation of “pull-up” toddlers.

I’m thinking that there is going to be some major mental mixups when 5 year old boys are going through their Oedipal Stage( I want to marry you Mommy and I want Daddy to die) at the same time that Mommy is wiping poop off their bottoms because they are still pooping in their pull-ups!!

Aren’t we maybe prolonging dependency a bit??? M
