Rob ZombieHas the Beast shown up a day late? And, more importantly, has he taken possession of my iPod?

Moments ago, I finished writing an article about this summer’s Rob Zombie/Godsmack tour. I had just tweaked a sentence about Rob’s 2003 album, “Sinister Urge.” Before I closed and emailed the doc to my editor, I connected my iPod and hit “Shuffle Songs,” of which there are 4,970. The first song up was from “Sinister Urge.”

If that isn’t occult-ish enough for ya, then consider this: the track features a guest vocal from (wait for it) … Ozzy Osbourne, a.k.a. The Prince of Darkness. [spooky-music crescendo!!]

Plus, also, as I’m writing this, the fourth song up on “Shuffle” is the “Sinister Urge” track “Sinners Inc.” … which has now been followed by a Rob Zombie cut from the “MI:2″ soundtrack … ?

Thank goodness this didn’t happen yesterday, ’cuz, you know, then I’d have had to spend a split second thinking that perhaps the whack jobs who for weeks had whipped themselves into a frenzy about yesterday’s expected arrival of the Antichrist may have had a point … which, in turn, would have meant that there was good reason to, say, undergo a C-section or induce labor on 6/5/06 to ensure that you weren’t Satan’s mother.
